Nodes Freeform gradient

Parameters

Select a node to edit its parameters.

Freeform gradient node creates a complex, mesh-like color blend. Unlike linear or radial gradients, it allows to place multiple color points arbitrarily within the shape’s bounding box.

Each point has a specific position, color, and radius. This is useful for creating organic, multicolored backgrounds, abstract blobs, or complex lighting effects.

Tip: select Freeform Gradient node, hover over canvas and press Enter key to activate gizmo for interactive controls.

Parameters

ParameterDescription
LabelThe display name for the node.
GroupThe group to apply this gradient to.
TargetThe layer type to apply the gradient to.
Base ColorThe background color of the mesh gradient.
Color pointsThe colors and positions in the mesh gradient.
SmoothingControls the global smoothing of the color points blend together.
Blend modeControls how the gradient blends with layers below it.
